Biography
Prior to his current role, Giorgio served as a marketing and public relations specialist, supporting all communications efforts, specializing in, but not limited to, online communications and social media.
Giorgio served as a marketing and communications digital coordinator for the Division of Advancement, Communications, and Technology at Keuka College from 2016-20. It was his responsibility to develop and implement digital content for multiple departments. Despite varying goals for each, creative content was created and dispersed through e-mail, social media, and the College's website to fulfill all needs — whether it was philanthropic, retention, new student, or alumni related.
Allowing Giorgio to accept a position with Keuka College was due in part to his experience as a public relations coordinator and sports information director (SID) for Herkimer College. He was appointed as the SID of Herkimer College in August of 2013, doubling as the Assistant to the Director of Student Services in September 2014, then as a Public Relations Coordinator in November 2015. It was his responsibility to provide information and create awareness of the College and its 19 NJCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics programs to local, regional, and national outlets. Through two separate websites — one for the college and the athletics department — all relevant information could be found.
In the fall of 2010, Giorgio was accepted to graduate school at Ithaca College where he also worked in event management with Cornell University. There he adhered to and enforced all policies and procedures for 32 Division I varsity programs who belonged to the NCAA, Ivy League, and ECAC. To finish his degree Giorgio traveled to Philadelphia, PA to expand on his event experience, accepting an internship with the Wells Fargo Center. When the position finished, Monster Energy offered Giorgio a job as a brand
ambassador, expanding his knowledge to an extreme sports environment.
In 2007 he interned in sports information at St. John Fisher College, helping their athletics department with its 21 NCAA Division III athletic programs. Two years later, Giorgio came back to his hometown, accepting a sports editor position with GateHouse Media, Inc., writing for the Herkimer Evening Telegram.
